Human Resource Experience

Membership is subject to approval by the Chapter Membership.  You will be notified when your application has completed this process.  New members will be invoiced for dues.  If you have any questions please contact any LCHRA officer.  Please visit our website for additional chapter information http://lowcountry.shrm.org

Non-Discrimination.  There shall be no discrimination because of race, religion, gender, age, national origin, or disability.

No Solicitation.  There shall be no solicitation of goods and services by a member of another member at any Chapter meeting or function.  Such action will be considered a breach of conduct and will be subject to termination of membership.

Membership Types

Professional Members. 

Individuals engaged in bona fide Human Resource Management with at least three years of experience at the exempt level and who devote at least fifty percent of their time to Human Resource functions; individuals currently certified by the Human Resource Certification Institute; faculty members with three or more years of experience holding assistant or full professorial rank in Human Resources; full time Human Resource consultants.  Professional members have voting rights and may hold office in the Chapter so long as they are also national members.

General Members.

Individuals engaged in the profession of Human Resource Management, at the exempt level, who devote at least fifty percent of their time to Human Resource functions but who do not meet the requirements for Professional Membership.  General members have voting rights and may hold office in the Chapter so long as they are also national members.

Associate Members.

Individuals in non-exempt Human Resource Management positions as well as those who do not meet any of the previous categories, but who demonstrate a bona fide interest in Human Resource Management and the purposes of the Chapter.

Retired Members. 

Individuals who currently hold SHRM membership in the Professional or General categories.  Retired members have voting rights but may not hold office in the Chapter.  Retired members are encouraged, but not required to maintain their affiliation with the SHRM national organization.

Student Members. 

Individuals who are actively enrolled in human resource programs at the college/university level.  Student members may not vote or hold office in the Chapter.

National Affiliation - Professional, General and Associate members are strongly encouraged to also hold membership in the national SHRM.
