Most people, most of the time, think of “creativity” as an artistic characteristic possessed only by painters, writers, musicians, and inventors. Creativity is alleged to be one of seven “human intelligences” and most all human beings are born with these various intelligences. Some have more than others, some can develop higher levels than others.

There is a plethora of methods and processes to trigger creative thinking and creative problem solving. If they worked so well, then why are so many people still searching for the magic wand to make creative solutions apprear?

Let’s talk about these issues, explore some creative thinking and creative problem solving methods, and identify ways you can tap into the creative intelligence of your workforce.

About the Speaker

Steve Ryden is a Human Resources professional concentrating in organization change, leadership coaching, workforce development, and human resource management systems since 1978. He has been a successful independent consultant since 1986 and his experience includes areas such as management development, supervisory training, organizational change support systems, teambuilding, employee involvement, performance management, career development, and human resources management processes.

 Steve has been a staff consultant for several management / human resource / organization development consulting firms and transition counseling centers. He also has served as an instructor for the Center for Management Development at Rutgers University and several local New Jersey community colleges.

Before working as an independent consultant, Steve served eight years with two Fortune 100 corporations as an internal consultant and training specialist with primary responsibility for supervisory training and management development, needs analyses, program design and delivery, and organization development. His other experience includes small business operations, line manufacturing, and clinical medical technology.

He has served on the several community Boards in his former New Jersey residence and currently resides in Beaufort County, South Carolina. He participated in the Low Country Small Business Hub, and is an active member of several Human Resource Professional organizations and their workforce development committees. Steve holds a Master of Science in Industrial Relations & Human Resources Management, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, both from Rutgers University, and various Human Resources program certifications.

He is semi-retired, still is active in consulting and training, lives in Bluffton with his lovely wife, Louise, and enjoys his life-long hobby playing saxophones in several local bands and musical groups.
