LCHRA August 2018 Annual Meeting

Topic: The Art of Recruitment Advertising in a Tight Labor Market

Speaker: Steve Ryden

Advertising for candidates to apply for job openings is an art and a science! The “art” is in selecting the vocabulary that accurately describe the position requirements, and simultaneously stimulates the reader to apply for appropriate reasons. In addition to qualified candidates, employers want motivated candidates and not just people who are desperate for a job and only work for money.

The “science” is using logic and common sense to place the advertisement in strategic locations so it gets noticed by the type of preferred candidates. Proper placement of the ad, where it is posted and the type of media used determined the nature of the pool of candidates.

You will learn and apply unique techniques to create ads to increase your pool of qualified, motivated candidates, and leave this presentation with a draft of a new position advertisement.
