Robert Trahan, state Director for SC with the US Dept of Labor, Veterans’ employment and Training Service will be our presenter at our March meeting.  He will discuss:

• Veteran Employment and Veteran Hiring Programs
• Homeless Veteran Reintegration Programs
• Compliance with USERRA
• HIRE Vets Medallion Program

Robert Trahan has served as the State Director of South Carolina with the U.S. Department of Labor, Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS), since January 2017.

He joined VETS from the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC where he served as a Management Analyst from January 2008 until January 2017.

Robert retired from the Army National Guard in October 2006 after 21½ years of service as both an enlisted soldier and Commissioned Officer. He served approximately 7 years on active duty and deployed overseas for OPERATION DESERT SHIELD/DESERT STORM; OPERATION PROVIDE COMFORT; and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM.   

Robert and his wife Doreen live in Columbia, SC, and have three grown children and three grandsons.
